Who doesn’t like making pastry? It’s just flour and water but for Morris, it’s a complete disaster.
“There was nothing Morris liked more than sticking his head in a bucket of warm water then sloshing it all over the floor. He had a great big mop-head that sloshed lots of water and as a result, he made a terrible, terrible mess.”
This is an excerpt from the story and is only the beginning . Morris gets into a mess. Of course, he gets into a mess – he’s Morris! After mistaking (and spilling) flour all over the floor he tries frantically to mop it up. But it just becomes a bigger mess which then turns into a pastry.
It’s not very long before this goes hard with Morris stuck fast in it. It’s a good job Freddie the fly and his pals are on hand to eat Morris out but then things still continue to go wrong as it doesn’t end there and it takes an elephant (an elephant?) to save the day.
Name meaning. The name Morris is of Anglo-Norman origin deriving from the ‘de Marisco’ line (meaning “of the marsh” in modern English). Morris name meaning on Wikipedia
